Preparation for Theatre Intensive Workshop
Choose a 1minute monologue and 32 bar song that you want to work on during the camp.
Wear comfortable clothes
Bring a water bottle

DAY 1- Pedagogy (Basics of singing)
Breathing exercises and techniques -Managing your air -Vocal Registers -Smell the roses -What is Appoggio? -Glottals/“The pipe” -What is your voice part? -Warming up the voice -Vocal Health on and off stage -sound and diction (For a class setting we can go over some vocal warm up together, and also go over some small ear training exercises and get them to practice these techniques as a group)

DAY 2- acting for the stage
Building your characters (What is your backstory?) -What is your action? -Everything has intention -YES….AND -Seeing the vision of the directors. -Reacting while not speaking -Paying attention to your quirks -Speaking (diction, pace) -Inward out or outward in (for a class setting one example of something we could do would get students to just cold read scenes in groups, any number of people, and then talk about it and give direction)

DAY 3 Question and Answer Class
How to go through your track in the show -Marketing yourself -Head shot/Resume -Auditions -Putting yourself on video -Questions about the job (Living in NYC, LA, Chicago) -Tour Life/Ship life/Regional Theatre/Working for Disney.

DAY 4 Masterclass (Individual Singing or Acting)

ADDITIONAL 45 MINUTE INDIVIDUAL CLASS
(Could also be a duet or scene) with Josh Hamilton to be scheduled during the week of the camp. Campers are responsible for working with Josh to schedule a time that works for both student and teacher.
