Musical Theatre Audition Skills 

Summer camp 2022

July 11-15, 2022
Monday-Friday, 10AM to 1PM
Ages: 11-17

Lights, camera, action! Join CFA and Beaufort Children's Theatre for a summer camp like no other! Our Musical Theatre Auditon Skills Camp will inspire campers to build audition confidence and have fun through creative monologue and vocal performances.

 

MONOLOGUE

Campers will choose a monologue that's right for them, research the play the monologue was part of, create their own character, and learn to perform with confidence.

 

Vocal Performance

Campers will learn how to warm up their voice, breathe properly, how to choose an audition song, prepare an audition cut of a song, and perform with confidence.

Details

Camp tuition is $130 for the week and a t-shirt is included.

​

Students will perform a final class showcase for family and friends on July 15 at 12pm.

 

The deadline to register is June 24, 2022.

Meet the instructors

Madeline Helser-Howard 

Madeline has a Bachelor of Arts in Music for Vocal and Oboe performance. She has performed in 34 shows, musically directed 6 shows, and reached private voice and oboe lessons. She previously worked with the Stage One Youth Theater in Richmond, IN, before moving to South Carolina in 2015.

Caroline Fonseca

Caroline has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Film Studies and an M.Sc in Film Studies. She moved to the Lowcountry in the summer of 2020 and is currently the Drama teacher at Whale Branch Early College High School. She previously worked with Tara Rubin Casting, casting Broadway shows such as Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia, and Jersey Boys. In addition, she ran Moonstruck Theater Company and served as Assistant to the Managing Director of Huntington Theater Company in Boston, MA.

Authorization for Substituted Consent & Emergency Contact Information


I hereby grant permission to the Director of USCB Center for the Arts or anyone designated by the Director, and to those persons listed as emergency contacts to authorize emergency medical or surgical treatment, including, but not limited to, blood or blood product transfusions, diagnostic procedures, and the administration of anesthesia, for Student where medically appropriate in case of injury, accident, or illness; subject, however to the following limitations (if none, please state so):

This authorization is given for the benefit of the Student. The authorization is given to the Director with the understanding that the Director or the Director’s designee, (1) will act only in my absence, and (2) will act only until such time as I or my spouse or the Student’s legal guardian or the persons designated can be contacted. I understand the medical appropriateness of such treatment shall be conclusive evidence of the reasonableness of the consent given, I agree to hold the Director, anyone designated by the Director, BPA, and any employees, officers, and directors of BPA harmless from liability arising from any and all medical treatment, or complications arising therefrom, rendered as a result of consent given pursuant to this authorization.


I further authorize (1) the release by USCB CFA or by the persons listed prior to the health care provider of such medical and personal information as CFA or the persons listed may have regarding Student, and (2) the use of such information by the health care provider in the subsequent medical treatment of the student.


Cancelled Class Policy: If a faculty member cannot teach his/her class, every effort will be made to find a substitute. If we find it necessary to cancel the class, the school will ask that you make up the class by attending one of our pre-existing classes.


Tuition Policy: Tuition must be paid in advance unless there are absolutely no refunds given for voluntary withdrawal from classes.


Inclement Weather: In the event of class cancellations due to hazardous weather conditions, an announcement will be placed on the school’s answering machine. Please check before leaving the house if the weather is questionable. No credit will be given for school closings due to inclement weather as these events are beyond our control. Students will be allowed to make up the class in a pre-existing class.
